‘Dance’ is one of the most intimate forms of art that we can feel with our body.
For this reason, watching a dance performance itself is enough to energize us.
I sincerely welcome all of you to the Busan International Dance Festival 2018. In this beautiful season where we enjoy green sprouts and the warmth of spring, this festival celebrates the fourteenth anniversary. We host this festival in a coastal city, Busan, with an ambition to promote the arts and culture of locality and Korea as we herald the new age of Northeast Asia. We cordially invite you to join us in the festivity.
The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Busan connects the world through dance’. We are preparing to receive you with a range of productions that will be performed by 45 dance companies from 15 countries; the U.S., Vietnam, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Singapore, Austria, Israel, Italy, India, Japan, China, Finland, Hungary, and Korea. You will have an opportunity to enjoy the performances by the world’s acclaimed dance groups and appreciate the essence of the Korean dance prepared by dancers from Busan.

I hope the gorgeous choreography expressed by moving hands and legs of dancers against the backdrop of the blue sea of Haeundae Beach can make your heart flutter and rejoice.
I would like to thank all the proud artists for their devotion and leadership despite the insufficient support that is needed. It would be unimaginable that we can hold the Busan International Dance Festival without the efforts of senior artists and their young successors. Finally, this festival epitomizes the hard work that we have put in, so I would like to ask you to show interest and visit to our show.
